Another year has come and gone.
I’m sure for all of us, 2023 will have brought with it some degree of welcome surprise, unforeseen sadness and day-to-day routine. It is at the turn of the year that I am particularly reflective and thankful to God for His faithfulness through it all. My awareness of His presence can change, but I am grateful that He is unchanging. He is readily waiting for us to come to Him in prayer, to bring all things before Him, and to trust in Him. What a gift it is to have access to such an almighty and fiercely loving God.
Recently I have been encouraged by the words of Hebrews 13:8
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
I am struck by how desperately our land and church are in need of restoration. With every year, the need for healing seems to deepen and the longing for God’s love is more keenly felt.
Many of you have been persevering in prayer for a number of years. I encourage you to persist. Our God is true to His word; He is the same yesterday, today and forever. My prayer for you this year is that you are instilled with a renewed knowledge that God is faithful, He is true to His promises, and that healing is coming. May you never stop seeking His face.
