Pray with us this October
This month we are praying for our Housing & Support work. This is a vital stream in our holistic approach, providing people who have been homeless with sustainable solutions in which they can thrive and grow.
Join us as we pray for the work of our Bethany Homes and Move-On Support teams in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife, West Lothian, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
How to pray with us
Our goal for this calendar is to engage you, our supporters, with the wider contexts and challenges that people experiencing homelessness are facing in Scotland, and to provide statistically-informed prompts for your personal prayers.
Each month this year we have provided two prompts: Pray for Scotland and Pray for Bethany. As well as this, we aim to update our website with current prayer requests for the service or area that we are focusing on that month.
We hope these help to guide your prayers, both for Bethany and for the the nation.
Thank you for joining with us in prayer.
Prayer points this month
Please join us as we give thanks and pray for Housing & Support this month.
We pray for an increase in available permanent housing options to become available for our tenants, especially those who have been waiting for a significant time and who are ready to move on.
We pray for effective services that can support people with housing, finances, health, mental health, addictions and community support.
We pray for the new Bethany Homes Ayrshire service, launching in October with the first of three high-quality tenancies in Kilmarnock. These will combine integrated support to individuals working with Connect to Community who are moving out of custody or at significant risk of homelessness.
With the winter months approaching, we pray for the Bethany Homes tenants who struggle with addictions, mental health, and loneliness more severely during this time.
