Pray with us this November

Jump to prayer points

This month we are praying for the multi-city work of our Care Vans, reaching people across a range of needs with food provision, support and signposting.

Join us as we pray for the work of our Care Vans across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.”

Matthew 25:35

How to pray with us

Our goal for this calendar is to engage you, our supporters, with the wider contexts and challenges that people experiencing homelessness are facing in Scotland, and to provide statistically-informed prompts for your personal prayers.

Each month this year we have provided two prompts: Pray for Scotland and Pray for Bethany. As well as this, we aim to update our website with current prayer requests for the service or area that we are focusing on that month.

We hope these help to guide your prayers, both for Bethany and for the the nation.

Thank you for joining with us in prayer.

Prayer points this month

Please join us as we give thanks and pray for our Care Vans this month.

For those we serve:

Matthew 25:35-36

Lord, as the colder nights draw in and winter approaches, we remember those in our cities who are experiencing homelessness, loneliness and hardship.

We pray for everyone who encounters the Care Van this month. May they experience more than practical support; may they encounter kindness, dignity, compassion, and hope.

For those sleeping rough, provide safety and shelter. For those struggling with addiction, poor mental health or isolation, bring encouragement and renewed strength. For those who feel forgotten, remind them that they are seen, valued, and loved.

May the Care Van be a place of warmth, welcome and connection throughout the winter months.

Amen.

For our volunteers:

Galatians 6:9-10

Father, we thank You for every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and compassion to serve others through the Care Vans.

We pray for strength during the long, cold nights, protection on the roads and encouragement when the work feels challenging.

Bless every conversation, every hot drink shared, every listening ear and every act of kindness. Give our volunteers wisdom to respond to the needs they encounter and renewed compassion for every person they meet.

May they never underestimate the difference they make. Remind them that even the smallest act of kindness can carry extraordinary hope.

Equip them, encourage them, and continue to use them as instruments of Your love.

Amen.

We pray for our volunteers of the Care Vans this month as they offer friendly faces, first-hand support and care to people facing homelessness across Scotland. We pray the Lord would bless them for the time they give to serve others and love so many through their actions

We pray for the many people who receive support from our Care Vans across Scotland, that they would find comfort in the routine of the service, be sustained in their complex situations and feel the love of God in all they do.
