This month we are praying for our employability work within the Glasgow area, training up young people and adults alike with soft skills that can equip them for life.
We pray too for the work of our Advocacy teams, that the basic needs of people we work with to be met within the national system that pledges to support them.
“Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

How to pray with us
Our goal for this calendar is to engage you, our supporters, with the wider contexts and challenges that people experiencing homelessness are facing in Scotland, and to provide statistically-informed prompts for your personal prayers.
Each month this year we have provided two prompts: Pray for Scotland and Pray for Bethany. As well as this, we aim to update our website with current prayer requests for the service or area that we are focusing on that month.
We hope these help to guide your prayers, both for Bethany and for the the nation.

Prayer points this month
Please join us as we give thanks and pray for specific areas of Bethany’s work this month.
We pray for the young people finishing up with summer placements at the end of August, that they would enjoy their last weeks of training and finish up well.
Pray for jobs and employment opportunities for people completing longer-term work placements with us, that they would have clarity about their next steps and have open doors to employment and further education. Pray too for those starting placements in partnership with Glasgow Virtual Schools in September.
Pray for our Advocacy team as they help people to navigate confusing procedures and processes, for more knowledge and understanding to be shared with people as they are searching for work, or receiving the support and benefits they are entitled to.
Pray for the systems themselves that Advocacy works alongside, that often they don’t effectively serve the people they are meant to support, despite the good intentions and great people working within them.
