The generosity we saw this year for our Summer Appeal blew us away! Together, you gave a total of £18,541.27.

Thank you so much to each one of you who donated and helped us to support children and young people in Scotland this summer – the impact of this generosity is truly life changing.

The money raised has gone directly towards helping us to send some of the children and families we support on holidays and daytrips in locations across Scotland. These holidays, provided in partnership with Scripture Union and Hopscotch, have helped to:

  • provide a break from difficult conditions and family tensions at home
  • brighten up the summer holidays, which can often be an isolating time for children
  • give people a chance to try new things, make new friends, and grow in confidence

We have also been able to provide counselling and employability training for young people in the West of Scotland through our UpStream and Community Development projects.

Thank you for an enormous £18,500 raised in support of kids this summer

Family relationships have been strengthened, new skills learned, self-confidence and resilience grown, and joyful memories formed. These are more than just holidays; they are an investment in positive futures.

At the start of the appeal, we emailed supporters with some comments from families who had benefited from this appeal in previous years. One participant had remarked how the holiday they had been on with Bethany in 2022 had provided a much-needed break:

“Just getting away from the hustle and bustle of scheme life is the best thing”

We found this feedback such a helpful reminder and wonderful encouragement for the impact of this work. Thank you for helping us to Give Kids a Break again this year.

This year we have already had 4 families attend Scripture Union day trips, and Hopscotch had 10 children at the week-long holiday.

Even more families will be joining us for the weekend away in September!

Thank you for your support!
