Pray with us in 2026

As we begin 2026, we praise God for his steadfast love and constant assuring presence. The faithfulness of God is unchanging and over this past year we have been constantly reminded of his presence, his peace and his provision as he calls and equips us to be part of fulfilling his purposes in Scotland.

For every person that Bethany has the privilege of reaching, we hear God’s heart, not only for each precious life that might be facing distress and suffering, but for families and communities across the nation:

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Numbers 6:24–26

Across Scotland many are facing immense pressures, including rising deprivation, isolation, addiction, mental health challenges, broken relationships and the continuing housing crisis. Systemic barriers remain and people are crying out for help. As we move forward in our Dwelling Place 2030 strategy, we seek to intervene in this landscape and offer paths and places of safety, stability and new beginnings, where lives can be rebuilt, restoration can unfold and peace be found.

In our Prayer Diary 2026 we are all invited to pray together for our nation, for people facing profound challenges, from homelessness and food insecurity to addiction, family pressures, imprisonment and loneliness.  Alongside this, we ask you to pray for Bethany as we seek to respond through our range of services with compassion, practical support and lasting solutions.

In every Bethany service, whether seeking to prevent homelessness, to intervene when lives are in crisis, or to offer housing with support, we continue to witness God at work. Without him we can do nothing; pray for us that we might in him do all things as he gives us the strength, that more people would know his peace, to his glory.

May the Lord bless you, keep you, and surround you with his peace throughout the year ahead.

With heartfelt thanks and warm regards,

Alasdair Bennett

How to pray with us

Our goal for this calendar is to engage you, our supporters, with the wider contexts and challenges that people experiencing homelessness are facing in Scotland, and to provide statistically-informed prompts for your personal prayers.

Each month this year we have provided two prompts: Pray for Scotland and Pray for Bethany. As well as this, we aim to update our website with current prayer requests for the service or area that we are focusing on that month.

We hope these help to guide your prayers, both for Bethany and for the the nation.

Thank you for joining with us in prayer.
