Our February Volunteer of the Month is Gustavo Mazepa!
Gustavo is a new volunteer at Bethany Christian Centre where he enjoys being a part of the team there, supporting the residents through their recovery journeys.
“I’m Gustavo Mazepa from Brazil. I’m 28 years old. I am a teacher of Portuguese language and literature in a public high school. I have a degree in Arts and Humanities and my college experience includes volunteer work in my city. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of the needs of different social groups and the ability to positively collaborate in their lives.”
“I chose Bethany Christian Trust the moment I talked to the manager about the role. The social work they have been doing with vulnerable people in Scotland is amazing and I would like to be a part of the team and help them as much as I can. Also, to be a volunteer, it’s so important to me.”
“When my gap year ends, I hope to go back to my country with another perspective about my own life. This opportunity has also given me the opportunity to improve my English and this makes me feel so much more confident and proud about myself.”
