We are delighted to see all the great projects chosen for a Leith Chooses Award including our very own Passing the Baton coordinator, Pall Singh’s Building Bridges!
Voted for by local people and businesses, it is a chance for funding projects that challenge food poverty and/or reduce isolation and keep people connected in Leith.
Building Bridges challenges food poverty and reduces isolation by hosting online cookery classes, in partnership with Punjabi Junction.
Pall who coordinates Building Bridges, says:
Building Bridges is honoured to be supporting vulnerable people with Bethany Christian Trust during the lockdown by delivering Asian meals to the Black, White, Asian, and diverse communities in Edinburgh.
It’s a delight to be working in partnership with Christian volunteers from Asian Concern, St Peter’s Church and the amazing members at St James Leith who have donated food vouchers towards the meals project!
We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of everyone and to Foundation Scotland and Leith Chooses for the funding!
Congratulations Pall and to all the winners! There are some fantastic things happening in Leith right now!
