Salary: £9.01 per hour

We have 5 shops in Edinburgh to support the vital services we provide. All our services focus on relieving the immediate suffering and meeting the long terms needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland. We don’t just work with homeless people. We stop people becoming homeless in the first place. When you join Bethany you are supporting projects such as the Winter Care Shelter, Care Van, Family Support work, Housing Support etc

As a Casual Retail Assistant you become part a fantastic team of staff and volunteers.

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills. You will make decisions on the sorting, recycling, pricing and displaying of donated goods in line with pricing guidelines for the shop.
This position also requires competent use of the till, When working without a manager in the shop, you are required to follow daily and weekly work plans as set out by the Shop Manager.

We are looking for a support worker to deliver Housing Support to individuals across Dumfries. You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Support Worker’ is desirable coupled with experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require membership of the PVG scheme and registration with the SSSC.

The post holder will provide hands on leadership and direction to our Fundraising and Marketing teams which make up part of the Income Generation team. This role will manage a diverse range of fundraising specialisms and will drive employee engagement and development within the team. The post holder should have the ability to provide leadership in relation to digital technologies, brand, marketing and audience segmentation.

The ideal candidate will have the skills and knowledge to inspire and manage the Income Generation team and to co-ordinate, promote and increase Income Generation activities in Bethany Christian Trust.
