What does Visiting Support - Edinburgh Offer?

Bethany Visiting Support - Edinburgh is now part of the Gateway consortium. Gateway Visiting Support is a partnership between Bethany Christian Trust, Rock Trust, Fresh Start, Move On, and The Salvation Army. We seek to provide support for up to 6 months to those in housing crisis with a view to moving people into settled accommodation, and preventing people who are in tenancies from becoming homeless. We can work across all housing tenures including, private lets, CEC and Housing Association Tenancies, Supported accommodation and Temporary accommodation. Visiting Support can offer help with:

• Budgeting and Financial Support; income maximisation and budgeting.
• Tenancy Support; help in finding and sustaining an appropriate tenancy.
• Support with Addictions; support workers will refer and signpost to specialist agencies.
• Support with Health Issues; supporting service users to access medical services.
• General Wellbeing; support to improve confidence and self esteem.
• Employment and training support; help service users to gain the necessary skills and confidence for employment, volunteering and /or trainging.
• Social Support; helping service users get to know their local area and build positive realtionships.
• Lifeskills: support service users to gain the skills necessary to keep their tenancy and avoid repeat homelessness.
• Befriending;through FreshStart we can provide Befrienders who can provide social support,breakdown isolation adn help people and hlp people develop independent living skills.

Who Can Apply?

The service considers referrals from single people over the age of 16 as well as couples and families with children. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate clients who have long term or complex needs.

How To Apply?

Referrals are welcome directly from prospective clients and from agencies working with people in housing crisis.
