Level 6 Community EducationWhat Do The Community Education Team Offer? Learning Centre Timetable (October - December 08) The Community Education Team provides a service to equip people to make informed positive choices in life. We do this by running a number of groups where people can become involved in lifelong learning, in a safe, non-judgemental atmosphere where they are accepted for themselves and can engage at their own pace. The only ground rules being drawn up by the clients themselves. These include accepting and respecting one another. The groups on offer are:
Development work includes; Anger management workshops and Women's groups. Who Can Apply? The team firstly works with residents and tenants of Bethany Christian Trust but also welcomes anyone referred through social work, Jobcentreplus, other agencies or self-referrals. How to Apply In the first instance any referring agency should call and make an arrangement either to send a client or accompany them to the project. Self-referrals will be welcome either by calling first to arrange a visit or by attending the Tuesday morning drop-in on any Tuesday. The first time someone comes along to a group they will discuss, with one of the team, exactly what their needs are or what area they are interested in. From this discussion an action plan will be drawn up based on the client's needs and the trainer's assessment so that the trainer and the client can chart progress and redefine the plan as necessary. Because the aim of the groups is to equip people to make their own choices we actively support people in planning the next move.
