Sandra is one person who wants to make a difference in Scotland’s homelessness crisis, so she has joined with Bethany Christian Trust to help end homelessness.

What motivated you to be that one person?

“You have helped me in the past get my house and you help me to understand things better. The Bethany worker still helps me; I can pop into the Hub and ask any questions and to get help so I don’t get anxious. I can’t do things by myself; I need friends and that’s what you are.”

“It was excellent when I got my new house because I was afraid in my old house. I was afraid to go to bed at night; I couldn’t sleep. I was terrified. I didn’t know what to do and you helped me. When I moved, things were different. My Church is family and now I live round the corner.”

I feel that I have lots of good things in my life now; friends and a house to stay in that I feel safe. Some people don’t have these things, they find themselves on the streets or in difficult places with no one. I know Bethany Christian Trust helps people in these situations.

“I heard you speaking in our Church about how much of a difference one person can make to helping people who are homeless and I wanted to do this. I decided to give up my 2 packets of biscuits so that I could give to Bethany to help.”

How do you feel by being that one person?

“It’s good, it’s fantastic. It’s only two packets of biscuits that means Bethany can help others and I can make a difference.”
