Bethany’s Winter Care Shelter is in desperate need of various items to help people who would otherwise be sleeping rough.

Every night during the winter in Edinburgh, the Care Shelter provides people who are homeless a safe and warm place to sleep, a hot meal and access to support. In addition to these crucial services, the Care Shelter also provides basic items such as clothing and toiletries. The Care Shelter relies on donations from the public in order to supply these items.

Here’s how you can help! Can you donate some of the items below?

  • Men’s underwear (new)
  • Socks
  • Good sleeping bags that pack away into a bag for easy carrying

Donating any of these items to the Care Shelter will go a long way in helping someone who is homeless survive the harsh cold of winter. Having clean underwear and socks is something that many of us take for granted but unfortunately is not the reality for many of our guests at the Care Shelter.  In addition to these items, there are plenty of other donations you can make that are really useful and can make a difference to someone.

  • Toiletries
    • Toothbrush
    • Toothpaste
    • Deodorant
    • Bars of soap
    • Lip balm
    • Disposable razors
  • Clothing
    • Jackets
    • Jumpers
    • T-shirts
    • Jeans
    • Casual shoes (trainers, boots etc)
    • Gloves
    • Belts

If you would like to help, you can drop off these items at any of our Bethany Shops around Edinburgh or bring/send them to our warehouse at 40 Jane Street (EH6 5HD) – just make sure to put them in a bag labelled for the Bethany Care Shelter.

Thank you for your support; we couldn’t do it without you!
