Full-time Volunteering

This type of volunteering is aimed mainly at young people as part of a Gap Year Programme.

Full-time volunteers at Bethany work across the Trust in all sections. They form a key part of the full time staffing, working alongside project workers, shop managers and assistant managers. Areas in which full-time volunteers work include:

Residential Support Services Division Volunteers work alongside permanent members of staff, in the day to day running of the hostels (Bethany House - Job Description, Bethany Christian Centre - Job description) and care of residents. These volunteers work shifts, including night shift according to the unit rota as drawn up by the manager.

Income Generation Division Full time volunteers work as part of the Fundraising and Marketing Team to help to raise the profile of Bethany Christian Trust and our work with homeless and vulnerable people. As well as to assist in increasing fundraising levels for the work of Bethany Christian Trust. - Job description.

Full-time volunteers are provided with accommodation and given living expenses and pocket money for the 12 months they are with us.

If you are interested in our programme, we ask that you apply through Time For God or Careforce. These agencies support volunteers in a wide range of opportunities, both in Britain and elsewhere. They can also help overseas volunteers with visas etc. You can contact them on volunteer@timeforgod.org or enquiry@careforce.co.uk. If you need further information you can email the Volunteer Co-ordinator at info@bethanyct.com or telephone 0131 467 3030.
